The Bell Chime - newly refurbished 3 bed house

The house was very nicely presented, good quality decoration and furnishings, and in 'new' condition. The underfloor heaters require a degree in nuclear physics to control them, but that didn't spoil our stay! Lovely house, lovely town.

Wonderful cosy comfortable stay in a great location Positive: Wonderfully cosy property - underfloor heating individually controlled, radiators with full control, log-burner, hot towel rails...also very comfy, great sized rooms, two good bathrooms with excellent showers. Very well appointed kitchen with all the utensils you need and a big range cooker; coffee machine and also a cafetiere. Dishwasher and washing machine are in a utility room along with the kitchen sink, but it didn't matter much for us, and we cooked at home every night for our 3-night stay. Good internet and a big TV in a comfy lounge, lovely big kitchen table. Great communications and perhaps the best experience for house, arriving, leaving, instructions. Parking outside wasn't quite 100% but close. Great locations for walks from the doorstep (we walked to Matlock Bath and the cable car for example) and for popping into town. Nearby pubs and good chippy at the green (not easy to spot on Google Maps). Negative: Tiniest minor point, the travel cot was provided but was a bit big for a 3-month old and so larger than the sheets we'd brought. But there were spare sheets. A couple of spare blankets for the beds would also have saved us having to have the heating on as much - but it was a very, very cosy place to be.

A fantastic little place to stay Positive: We absolutely loved the property , we couldn’t fault it . It had everything we needed , the beds were super comfortable , its was clean and very cosy. Negative: Couldn’t find a light switch to turn off the hall lights

Nice cottage just badly designed kitchen and the noise from the bells is too much Positive: Property clean and tidy Negative: Kitchen is badly set out and almost unusable as sink in a separate room and the table takes up all the space. Cottage next door to a church and the bells ring every 15 MINUTES!!! They kept me awake both nights we were there

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Bell Chime. It is a lovely house with great views, and very close to the shops and Positive: The property was very comfortable and clean with lots of nice added touches like the lovely welcome pack and bathroom soaps. It is beautifully decorated and the view from the back of the house is amazing. Negative: I think it should be made clearer in the description about how steep the stairs are, as my elderly parents struggled a bit with this. Also, the position of the house is very high up and a good portion of the route down into Matlock is extremely steep. It would have been helpful to know this.
