Country Cottage for 5 people. The Cottage, Wensley

Charmante en comfortabele cottage Positive: Gezellig, warm en comfortabel vakantiehuis in een klein gehucht. Houtkachel maakt het heel gezellig. Goede bedden, goed uitgeruste keuken. We kregen een welkomstcadeau met lokale producten. De cottage is heel stijlvol gerenoveerd en heeft veel charme. Negative: Niets

We had a wonderful time at The Cottage, its location is brilliant for Matlock, Chatsworth, Bakewell etc. There is a pub just down the road from the cottage as well. If you need any supplies you’re very close to a supermarket, petrol station etc, so the location is fab. Just down the lane there’s a beautiful viewing point (a 1 minute walk from the cottage). The cottage itself is great and has everything you need. The log burner is fab and was super cosy with the January weather. Overall, a fantastic stay.

Wonderful cosy cottage at the heart of the Peaks Positive: We had a fantastic break over Christmas at The Cottage on the Square. The location is fantastic, with great views from the surrounding roads and villages, and it's super convenient for trips to several nearby towns and cities including Matlock, Bakewell and Buxton. The cottage itself is well-equipped and very cosy, with a log burner and central heating for extra warmth and comfort during the winter months. Our group of four adults had plenty of space and we had a wonderful time during our visit. Communication from the host was excellent and it was very easy to access the property. Negative: We had no issues during our stay at all, but the square car park can sometimes get a little busy and it might be necessary to park on the road.

Positive: Cosy warm and welcoming. Everything you needed supplied. Really lovely welcoming pack. Negative: Big van parked outside front door the whole stay, made it hard to locate it at night when we arrived.

The Cottage in Wensley was perfect in all ways for our stay in Derbyshire. The property itself had everything you needed for 5 people. Beds and communal accommodation were very comfortable. The property was clean and accessible. Be mindful it doesn't have any outside enclosed space for animals though although this was not a problem for us. Wensley is idyllic and very quiet. There are loits of places to walk and explore from the doorstep and you are unlikely to see anyone when out walking. There are no amenities by Darley Dale and Matlock have everrything you need. Great communication from the hosts who we booked direct with.
