Smith Yard Cottage

Stunning cottage but the booking was handled very unprofessionally, use a different company. Positive: Perfect location and very cosy little cottage. Negative: the booking was messed up, between the host, booking.com and the welcome team. We struggled to get access to the property. We eventually got in with our young family late at night. Then there was huge confusion and the welcome team visited us twice during our stay demanding payment we we had already paid with booking.com. The welcome team had no ID on them other than ' pointing at her jumper saying shes welcome team ...... and we didnt trust that they wasnt scamming us. We didnt pay so they then attempted to ring the police, which was very scary and hostile. Also we had the host contacting us asking us to ' skip bookng.com and pay directly ' . Again this was over whatsapp and she was in Holland so we didnt open link as didnt know if was a scam. Lastly we got contacted by the welcome team threatening us with a high fine and court fees , again demanding money - also more than we originally paid. Issue is still not resolved and they are still threatening us with court fines and hearings.
